Fourth Year

I have learned so much more than simply those programs- at Tech we are taught how to learn. Our instructors teach us the necessary tools to learn whatever programs we encounter.

Take Aways

Louisiana Tech's Architecture program is structured to provide intentional learning experiences each year. From mastering the precision that chipboard brings to advancing all the way into Revit, the curriculum transitions smoothly and effectively, maintaining a steady workload whose academic rigor never disappoints.

To the right are the benefits of each year and the projects we worked on. The first two years of our program are honed in on understanding the importance of quality design, the following two are focused on the application of a building within the context of design. We look at codes, what it takes to own and operate a firm, and everything in between

Application

Freshman Year was for designing. It was to get us thinking inside the box so that one day we could step out of it. While it may not look like archtitecture, the things I learned here become more and more appliciaonal as I grow into an architect.

THIRD
YEAR

In our third year, we begin our dive into the real world by focusing on actual structure. We carried this into our Design Build program which offered a chance to serve the Ruston community.

SECOND YEAR

The second year is an introduction to the digital world. Rhino, Lumeon, and AutoCAD are introduced here. The second year is the beginning of our process of conceptualizing space.

FIRST
YEAR

The first year is all analog. We must first learn the basics of design so that we might be able to learn the intricacies later. While this may not directly be architecture, this was the beginning of my road.
